Wee Wonders show proves to be a successful day for all

The Wee Wonders' 'Babies and Beyond Show took place in Banbridge Leisure Centre on Saturday 11th September and a fantastic time was had by all who attended.

With nearly fifty stalls full of products ranging from personalised room signs for children to hand made cup cakes, regional fostering information for those parents interested in how to become a foster carer to temporary sports tattoos as well as free activities and workshops for children; two huge bouncy castles; an educational fire engine; adult workshops; pampering for parents and competitions: there was something there for everyone to enjoy.

A new and unique Baby Bump painting service was provided by s.a.k DESIGNS; four lovely mums-to- be got their bumps painted with a design of their choice by body paint artist Stacey Kilpatrick.

David Prentice Mini provided goodies for the mums and also displayed two show cars onsite.

The Bonny Baby competition was a great success with 43 entries between the two categories 0-11 months and 12-24 months.

This meant the judges had a very difficult job picking the final six winners; all of whom were given fantastic prizes donated by local businesses, including a free photograph each from Norman Whitten Photography.

Sharon Stewart, one of the organisers of the event, said, "It was nice to revive a cheesy eighties competition but emphasise a different slant on it so instead of judging babies on how beautiful they were, we judged on personality and smiley faces instead. In my opinion, every one was a winner.”

The charity raffle raised 500 for Tiny Life, Northern Ireland’s Premature Baby Charity. The organisers would like to thank all the traders who donated a prize and to all our customers who bought tickets to support such a valuable and important charity.

Linda Buchanan of Wee Wonders was delighted with the event, “We couldn’t have asked for a better day and the feedback we have had from the general public and traders has been very positive. We are so pleased to have raised such a brilliant amount for Tiny Life.”
