Week of activities in Dromara

Dromara Community Group held a series of events during the week commencing June 10.

Saturday June 10 saw a Country Market being held in St John’s hall and a vintage rally at the football grounds at Bell’s Bridge.

The local Art Club held an exhibition and sale in a marque at the vintage rally.

On the Sunday afternoon there was a community service in St John’s Church conducted by Rev Colin Taylor.

On the Monday evening Dromara Cycling Club ran a cycling gymkhana at The Lagan Park Centre and they wish thank Raymond McCullough from the Today Store for their sponsorship.

On the Tuesday evening The Local History group held their annual Charity Quiz evening in Square One (kindly granted) this was very well attended and they are most grateful for all the local businesses who sponsored them, including Square One, Moore Meats, The Village Grill, Boots Chemist, Joanna Beauty and Kelly Flowers.

The Charity this year was Cancer Research and they were delighted with the response.

Wednesday evening saw the 5K and the Fun Run, which was again a very successful evening.

Thursday afternoon saw the Local Thursday Club hosting an afternoon tea party in aid of Motor Neurone Disease. which again was well supported.

On the Thursday evening the Local history Group hosted a talk by John Bradbury from Lisburn Linen Centre who spoke on ‘Linen Biennale‘.

The Community Group is very grateful to everyone who supported these events and also to Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council for their support.
