WELB offer student support

THE Western Education and Library Board (WELB) is offering a limited number of Further Education Awards for full time and part time students undertaking courses up to Level 3.

Students who apply will be required to meet certain criteria and a means test will also be applied.

The closing date for applications for fulltime FE Awards this year is 31 August 2011 and applications will not be accepted after this date.

Eligible students who submit an application by 30 June 2011 will be guaranteed funding. This guarantee does not apply to full time applications received in July and August 2011.

Stephanie Murphy, WELB Head of Administration and Management, said: “Young people should make sure they find out what they are entitled to – they may be pleasantly surprised at the level of non-repayable support that’s available to help meet the cost of studying. For example, there is extra help available for students with children.”
