Welcome for Cricket Club funding

COUNCILLOR David Archer, Chairman of the Council's Leisure Services Committee has welcomed the decision by the Committee to contribute £3,000 towards the development of cricket in Lisburn.

The Council received correspondence recently from Lisburn Cricket Club outlining its involvement in the development of cricket with local schools in 2009, which received financial assistance from the Council.

Members of the Committee agreed to assist the club once again at their recent meeting.

Councillor Archer commented: "The Council has previously supported this worthwhile initiative from Lisburn Cricket Club and I am pleased the Committee have decided to continue its support and make a contribution of 3,000 for a further year.

"This will assist the Club in continuing with its outreach and development work in 2010."
