Welcome for fuel poverty advice line

North Antrim DUP MLA Mervyn Storey has welcomed the announcement that Bryson Energy Trust is to continue to operate a free phone service offering advice on issues such as energy efficiency and fuel poverty.

Welcoming the announcement Mr Storey said:

“Recently the Energy Saving Trust (NI) stated that their 0800 free phone service would cease from March 31st this year.

“They further advised that they would be unable to fulfill any locally tailored advice support after that time.

“I very much welcome the fact that Bryson Energy, who have managed and operated the service since 1995, has launched a new free phone number – 0800 14 22 865 – with effect from April 2nd 2012.”

“This will ensure that the continued provision of free, impartial and a locally tailored energy advice will be available for householders across North Antrim. This free phone advice line will be operated by staffed, fully trained to give advice on such matters as well as renewable energy, waste minimization and recycling.

“This is an excellent piece of news for hard pressed householders and I would encourage people to take up this very valuable service.”
