Cllr Cunningham also commented that it will draw in more visitors to the area stimulating our local economy and putting the North Coast into greater focus as a magnificent place to visit.

He said: “We must ensure that Ballycastle, the Glens and the entire North Coast benefits from this development and that we increase our share of visitors and their tourist value.

“This is a massive lift for people and businesses on the North Coast and should create much-needed employment in the short, medium and long-term.

“I particularly welcome the upgrade of the walks and trails around the famous site, and the addition of a new accessible cliff-top walk for families and people with disabilities.

“I look forward to monitoring the doubtless stellar progress of this latest major asset to the North Coast.”
