GLENS Sinn Fein councillors Colum Thompson and Margaret Anne McKillop have congratulated local Fold resident John Cross after he recently completed a 450 mile sponsored walk over 38 days, during which he visited all 44 Fold sheltered housing schemes in the north, in aid of Action Cancer.
Councillor Thompson said: “I would like to pay tribute to John and congratulate him on his wonderful achievement, I am sure it was a tough challenge which John has completed and I know everyone in the local community are very proud of his efforts.”
His party collegue Councillor Margaret Anne McKillop added: “What John has done is remarkable, he has set a wonderful example to others and raised a fantastic amount of money for Action Cancer. I am sure everyone is aware of someone who’s life has been affected by cancer and I am delighted that John has raised such a large sum of money which will now go towards tackling the disease.”
