Last week, McAuley Precision and McAuley Fabrication announced that they are undertaking expansions that will cumulatively create 87 new skilled advanced manufacturing jobs in Ballymoney by 2019.

The £5 million investment was announced by Invest NI Chief Executive Alastair Hamilton during a visit to the premises.

Alastair Hamilton said: “The 87 new jobs to be recruited over the next four years will generate an additional £2.1 million annually in additional salaries and create valuable advanced manufacturing employment opportunities in the Causeway Coast and Glens region.”

Meanwhile at the Causeway Coast and Glens Business Awards, Ballymoney firms were also to the fore.

Attending the event on Friday evening, Mervyn Storey MLA said: “I was however particularly pleased to see the success of five local companies either from or situated in Ballymoney at this year’s event.

“Not only did Supervalu pick up one award but they went one better and picked up two - Independent Retailer of the Year and Training and Development Award.

“Christie Direct was also another winner with the company picking up the Business Growth Award. I was also delighted when “Can Can” scooped the Social Enterprise of the Year Award - recognition well deserved. McAtamneys and Ground were also winners.

“To all who were successful I would offer my congratulations and say how proud we are of their achievements. To the management and staff of these local companies I would say well done, your hard work and effort has been recognised and rewarded.”
