West End star gives Fusion a boost

West End actor, Alistair Brammer is making a special visit to Fusion’s rehearsal studio to give the cast some last minute tips on their latest show ‘Miss Saigon’ before they take to the stage in two weeks to perform the popular show.

Alistair is no stranger to Miss Saigon as he is currently playing ‘Chris’ in the smash-hit West End version.

A seasoned performer, he has been involved in musical theatre for many years and made his West End debut as Marius in Les Miserables in 2009, where he spent 18 months in the role.

He also played the role of Jean Prouvaire in the Les Misérables 25th Anniversary Concert at the O2 on October 3, 2010.

His credits include the European tour of Hair, the 2012 revival of Taboo at the Brixton Clubhouse, and until March 2014 was playing Billy and understudying Albert in the West End production of War Horse. Alistair also played Jean Prouvaire in the 2012 film Les Misérables.

Ian Milford, Director and Musical Director met up with Alistair in London a few weeks ago, when Ian watched the West End version as part of his research for Fusion’s performances.

“Meeting with Alistair was a brilliant opportunity to compare notes and get a few tips from him on how to make Fusion’s show spectacular,” said Ian.

“The cast are very fortunate that such an experienced performer is taking time out of his busy schedule to help fine-tune their performances.”

Miss Saigon is a classic love story has been said to be one of the most stunning theatrical spectacles of all time.

In this specially adapted version of Miss Saigon, Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg, the creators of Les Miserables, along with Richard Maltby,Jr., bring Puccini’s Madame Butterfly to the modern world in a moving testament to the human spirit and a scathing indictment of the tragedies of war.

In the turmoil of the Vietnam War, an American soldier and a Vietnamese girl fall in love, only to be separated during the fall of Saigon.

Their struggles to find each other over the ensuing years ends in tragedy for her and a fighting chance for the child he never knew he had.

Memorable songs from the show include ‘The Heat is On in Saigon’, ‘Sun and Moon’, ‘I Still Believe’ and ‘Last Night of the World’.

Directed and Musically Directed by Ian Milford and choreographed by Rebecca Leonard, the show runs from Wednesday September 10 until Saturday September 13.
