Whitehead boat park leasing explored
Mid and East Antrim’s Maritime Board have agreed to explore the possibility of leasing Whitehead Boat Park to community groups.
The facility has an income of £1,500, members were told during last Friday’s meeting of the committee. However, this is set against the amount of time expended on the administration and maintenance of the boat park; currently £1460.80.
With postage costs to date in this financial year of £135.00 and the replacement of a compromised padlock and keys at £235.00, the boat park is operating at a loss.
Should the facility pass to community management, it is envisaged that it may become a “better utilised asset” with the successful group responsible for its administration and management.
