Whitemountain community urged to have their say

In an effort to try and ensure a good response to the survey, the association included a free entry into a draw to win £50 worth of groceries. However, in the last few days, Whitemountain Stores at Sales Corner have added a matching amount so the prize draw up for grabs is now £100 of groceries at their newly opened store.

Chairperson of the group, John Belshaw, commented: “Following hot on the heels of our new web site www.whitemountain.org.uk this is terrific news and the Whitemountain Store is to be congratulated for making such a pro-active offer. That facility is going to be a real bonus for the area in the future and everyone should give their support to it.

“In the last few days, approximately 230 households from Whitemountain, Aghnahough, Beanstown, Ballyclough and surrounding areas just north of the city should have received their survey. It is totally confidential and thanks go to Volunteer Now in Lisburn, TADA and Bridge Community Centre Staff for its creation.”

“A team of volunteers from our area will call at every household around 11am to 2pm on Saturday February 5 to collect the survey and issue the details of their entry into the draw. Only households that have completed or nearly completed their surveys will go into the prize draw and with odds of about 1 in 230 of winning £100 worth of groceries it’s in everyone’s interest to fill it in and make sure it gets collected on February 5.

“The survey should only take 10 minutes to complete and the information will really help us plan for the future. Included in the pack will also be a memento ‘postcard’ to keep or give to relatives plus information on grants applications, etc.

“The results of the survey will be very interesting and might even be of use to the councillors but in the short term the prize draw winner will be known on February 11 and they will be contacted the next day,” he concluded.
