Whitewell incident being treated as a hate crime

Police have issued an appeal for witnesses following an incident of criminal damage in the Whitewell Road area last night (Tuesday, September 8).

At around 8.40pm it was reported that paint had been thrown over a car parked in the area. Damage was also caused to the rear windscreen of the vehicle after it was hit with a brick.

Police are treating the incident as a hate crime and Inspector David McBride has appealed for anyone with relevant information to contact investigating officers at Tennent Street Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, or to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
