WHSCT spent overhalf-a-million ontranslators: Wells

The Western Trust spent over half-a-million on translators and interpreters over the past three years, the Health Minister Jim Wells has revealed.

Translation and interpreting services cost £683,813 between 2011/12 and 2013/14 with the figure rising from £220,052 to £246,952 over the three years.

The Minister was asked for the total spend on translators to facilitate non-English speaking patients by East Londonderry MLA Adrian McQuillan.
