WI celebrates its 49th birthday

HILLSBOROUGH WI celebrated its 49th anniversary with dinner at Dunmurry Golf Club.

President Judy Cinnamond welcomed members. Bunty Hawkins said grace and everyone enjoyed an excellent meal.

Judy and Ann McCurdy, executive member, cut the birthday cake, which was enjoyed with coffee.

Afterwards Janet Kingsbury read poems and reminiscences of childhood Christmases, evoking happy memories for many present.

Jackie Townsley organised a quiz on antiquities which was won by Mary McKeag with Reah Browne second. The competition was spot prizes when lucky winners at each table received a pot plant.

Ann McCurdy was presented with flowers and thanked the WI for the evening.

A happy and enjoyable time was had by all.
