Wildlife photography course returns

THE popular wildlife photography course is returning to Lough Neagh Discovery Centre.

Semi-professional photographer Danny Gibson will host the second in his series of four courses.

The two day course will be held on Friday, January 25, and Saturday, January 26, from 10am to 4pm each day and is open to all ability levels and expertise.

Danny is a full member of the Amateur Wildlife Filmmakers Network (AWFN) and also an employee of Craigavon Borough Council. He has been producing wildlife images in his spare time for three years with an extensive portfolio specialising in wildlife and outdoor photography.

His expertise has been called upon by the BBC in both television and radio with Danny featuring on the BBC’s ‘Wild Week Live’ programme and BBC Radio Ulster’s ‘Your Place and Mine’ as well as having his pictures printed in calendars and publications.

The course will be based indoors at first covering equipment, techniques, field craft, sample shots and photographic theory. The second day will be outdoor based working from hides and natural cover on the nature reserve covering macro photography of fungi and photographing bird species.

Costing £120 per person this course will provide all the necessary information and techniques needed to get started in wildlife photography. Participants are asked to bring their own photographic equipment and appropriate outdoor clothing.
