Willie meets the Rambler at R Space

On Friday May 29 R Space Gallery in Castle Street will be hosting a special show with Lisburn man Ian McPherson and Ulster Scots musician Willie Drennan.

Rambling Ringo’ is the musical alter ego of Lisburn visual artist Ian McPherson. Ringo is a troubadour, songwriter and seasoned street musician who plays country, folk and blues on guitar and harmonica.

He is probably best known for his song ‘Jack McMaster’, about Lisburn’s last ‘horse-and-cart’ milkman.

Willie Drennan is an Ulster-Scots musician and raconteur. Willie plays fiddle, flutes, mandolin and drums and is perhaps best known for his BBC TV series ‘A Dander With Drennan’.

Willie’s association with the works of Rabbie Burns is common knowledge but the influence of others, such as Bob Dylan, is not. Expect the unexpected.

Tickets for the show, priced £10, are available from R-Space Gallery or via Eventbrite.

The event is BYO and the ticket priced includes a light supper.
