“This is a welcome cash injection into the East Antrim constituency and will benefit people over the age of 50 through the delivery of a programme of events and activities to celebrate the group’s 30th anniversary year,” he said.

“The simplification of the Awards for All schemes should encourage many groups to make application.

“Each application should require less bureaucracy than was the case in the past; they can be used to fund short term projects that will be completed within a 12 month period and I would encourage many other groups across the constituency to take up the opportunities that are now available.”
