Windmill plan is put on hold
County Hall had indicated its intention to refuse the application for a 30-metre structure, lodged by Robert Arnold, stating that insufficient information had been provided to establish whether existing properties would be affected by noise. There were no objections to the application.
Ald Roy Beggs asked for the deferral, saying that additional information would be provided at a meeting with planners.

Hide AdCounty Hall is to issue a refusal in another turbine application. There were five letters of objection to the application from Seamus Mulvenna in respect of a 30-metre structre at Cairncastle Road, Ballygally.
Planners said it had not been demonstrated that the proposed turbine would not have a detrimental impact on Ballygally Castle, a listed building. They said they also lacked evidence that it would not give rise to unacceptable electromagnetic interference to a radio link licensed to NIE, or that there would not be any detrimental impact on residential properties in terms of noise or shadow flicker.
