Witnesses sought to Carniny Road burglary

Police in Ballymena are appealing for information following the report of an aggravated burglary at a house in the Carniny Road area

It is believed that entry was gained to the house at around 1.30am today, Thursday, September 19.

The occupant’s black Audi A3 car VRM DRZ 2707 was taken and driven to the Broughshane area. The males involved are then thought to have returned to the house where they were disturbed by the owner at around 3am.

The male homeowner was struck with a metal object to the head sustaining injuries that required hospital treatment.

A PSNI spokesperson said a 25-year-old man was arrested in the Broughshane area this morning in relation to the incident and is currently in custody helping police with their enquiries.

Police are asking anyone who has seen the Black Audi A3 car or knows of it’s whereabouts, or who has any information to contact them at CID in Ballymena on 0845 600 8000.
