Woman admits theft of toys and driving while disqualifed

A BALLYMENA woman who stole toys from a local store has been placed on probation for nine months.

Claudean Hulsman (39), of Glendun Drive, was also given a suspended two month prison sentence after admitting four counts of theft and a further charge of driving while disqualified.

Hulsman stole the toys - with a total value of around 250 - from the same store on four dates between October 1 and 26 last year.

She also came under police notice while driving at the junction of Greenview and Glendun Drive on August 4, 2008.

Solicitor Stewart ballentine said the thefts had been committed at a time when she was in the middle of a separation from her husband.

With regard to the driving while disqualified offence, Mr Ballentine said Hulsman had been going to the shop to get food for her children.
