Woman breached non molestation order

A 30-year-old woman was given a suspended prison sentence last Friday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for breaching a non molestation order.

Charlene Morrison, Jervis Street, Portadown, was also made the subject of a restraining order.

The court heard that on March 12 this year that Morrison was in breach of a non molestation order at Lakelands in Craigavon.

Mr Gabriel Ingram, representing the defendant, said that Morrison’s father lives in Bournemouth and she was making arrangements to go and live with him.

He added that she had five sisters in southern England and wants to make a fresh start in her life.

Mr Ingram said she had been in a relationship with the injured party and now she was in a new relationship and her new partner would be going with her to England.

He also said that Morrison had spent some time in custody on remand and it had been a sobering experience for her.

She had no criminal record.

District Judge, Mrs Bernie Kelly, imposed a sentence of two months in prison, suspended for 18 months, and a restraining order for two years.
