Woman convicted of £86,000 benefit fraud

A woman was convicted at Antrim Crown Court today for claiming benefits she was not entitled to.

Anne Marie McIlveen (40) of Shetland Street, Antrim, claimed Jobseekers Allowance, Income Support and Housing Benefit totalling £86,341 while failing to declare she was living with her partner.

She was given a 15 month prison sentence suspended for three years.

She is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
