Woman guilty of benefitfraud

A Portadown woman who claimed benefits she was not entitled to was convicted at Belfast Magistrates' Court today (Friday).

Victoria Lauchlan (40), of Princess Way, claimed Income Support and rates totalling £10,335 while failing to declare she was living with her partner.

She was given a one-month prison sentence suspended for two years.

She is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Department for Communities.
