Woman in court on brothel keeping charge

Arlete Gomez, whose address was given as Victoria Street in Ballymoney, appeared at a special sitting of Ballymena Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.

The court heard that Gomez was charged on 27th February this year with keeping, managing, acting in the management or assisting in the management of a brothel.

She also faced a charge of controlling two other individuals for prostitution on February 27th.

Gomez was remanded in custody.

The case was adjourned until March 10th when Gomez will appear via videolink in the Magistrates’ Court in Coleraine.
