Woman in her 80’s forced to the ground by intruders

INTRUDERS fled empty handed after they forced a woman in her 80’s to the ground and held her down after they broke into her home at Crewe Road in Glenavy, last Friday.

Around 4pm, a man came to the window of her house and claimed he needed to get into the house to check the taps as there was a problem with the water.

Her husband, also in his 80s, invited him into the house and when he got inside he ran the kitchen taps before asking the man to show him the outside taps.

The second was also in his early 20s, about 5’ 8” tall of a slight build with dark hair. He was also wearing dark tracksuit bottoms and a dark top with grey lining. The third was again in his early 20s and was wearing a dark tracksuit.

All were described as speaking with local accents.
