“It is believed the man made off from the scene in a silver car. The female was left badly shaken and received minor facial injuries, as it is believed she had her face pushed against a wall during the incident.”

The robber is described as being around 5ft 6ins tall and was wearing a blue hooded top with either a black or blue scarf covering his face. It is believed that he had a signet ring on his right index finger.

“Police enquiries are continuing and we would appeal to anyone with any information to contact police in Newtownabbey on the non emergency number, 101. Or, if someone would prefer to provide their details without giving their information they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111,” Sergeant Neill added.
