Woman stole grocery and clothing items

A WOMAN who admitted stealing items of grocery and clothing from a Portadown store has been ordered to do 40 hours community service.

The sentence was imposed at Craigavon Magistrates Court on Friday, on Christine Feeney (48), of Millar Park, Laurencetown, Craigavon.

She admitted stealing items to the total value of 30.25, from Dunnes Stores, High Street Mall, on August 22.

A prosecuting lawyer said all the items had been recovered, and fit for re-sale.

A defending solicitor said his client had made a full admission, and is ashamed about what happened. She had purchased some items, but left the store without paying for others.
