Woman stopped at Outlet thought she had insurance but certificate was false

When police checked a car at The Outlet at Banbridge they discovered that the driver did not have insurance.

Sorin Cirpaci (28), Market Street Court, Tandragee, was fined £250 last Thursday at Banbridge Magistrates Court for the offence.

She was also given six points and ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.

The court heard that on December 21 last year at The Outlet car park shortly after 3pm police inquiries revealed she was not insured to drive the vehicle. She was offered a fixed penalty but chose not to accept it.

A solicitor representing the defendant said she obtained insurance but it turned out to be a false certificate.

He added that she had since sold the vehicle.
