Woman suffers burns in arson attack

A woman has suffered burns to her arm as she tried to put out flames during an arson attack at her home in Derriaghy.

The 54-year-old discovered burning material had been pushed through her letterbox at around 3.30am on Tuesday.

But as she tried to put out the fire at the house in Bellevue Terrace she was burnt on her right arm.

The woman was taken to hospital where she was treated for her injuries.

Police who were called to the scene managed to extinguish the flames.
