Women led to safety from separate fires

TWO women were led to safety in separate fire incidents over the past few days, one at a sheltered dwelling in Taughmonagh and the other in Dunmurry.

The first fire occurred around 7pm last Thursday, when a 52-year-old woman was given oxygen treatment following a fire in the kitchen in her terrace house at Areema Drive in Dunmurry.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a main jet and a covering jet to deal with the fire which appeared to have been caused by a chip pan.
