Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a main jet and a covering jet to deal with the fire which appeared to have been caused by a chip pan.

Then on Saturday a 53-year-old woman was alerted to the fire when smoke alarms went off in her sheltered dwelling in Malton Fold in Taughmonagh. She was led to safety by firefighters as they dealt with a fire in her bedroom on Saturday at around 5pm.
