Women's centre offers Fit For Life courses

NEW Year and thoughts of New Year resolutions. Extra pounds from too much over indulgences of Christmas goodies. The Waterside Women's Centres Fit for Life programme of courses may be just what you are looking for. This term offers activities which are sure to be just the thing to get you into shape and feeling fit.

Swimming is one of the best exercises that anyone can do but what if you can’t swim, then our Beginners Swimming course will soon give you the confidence and expertise to tackle those strokes with ease and for those who can swim but still feel there is room for improvement then an Improvers course is just the answer.

Aerobic exercise is great but can be quite strenuous so why not try Aqua Aerobics. Extremely beneficial but made easier because the exercises are done in water. The ability to swim is not necessary as you are standing in the water at all times. However it is a great way to help build your confidence in the water.

The courses will be held in Lisnagelvin Leisure Complex and facilitated by an experienced tutor who will soon put you at ease and have you enjoying the exercise experience. Courses are held during lunch time when the pool is quieter which is an added bonus.

If water based activities are really not your thing we are offering Yoga, Tai Chi and Gentle Aerobics. Facilitated by experienced tutors they will ensure that you gain the maximum benefit from your exercise programme.

If you always have great intentions to go for a walk but don’t always get round to actually doing it, then why not think about joining our walking club.

The group meets at the centre every Friday morning. Facilitated by trained walk leaders a different walk is taken every week lasting about an hour. Great exercise, good fun and cost free.
