Wood stolen in Waterside

POLICE in G District are appealing for site owners to secure materials following the theft of approximately 20 wooden planks in the Waterside area of Londonderry over the weekend.

A spokesperson for the PSNI said: “This is often the time of year when people will be gathering up materials for use on bonfires. While the majority of materials are lawfully acquired, some people will break into building sites to gather up wood or anything else they can burn.

A the end of the day and working week make sure extra materials are locked away in containers or safely stored elsewhere.”
