Woodburn gritter to be replaced
A ROAD gritter based at the Woodburn Depot in Londonderry’s Waterside is amongst 13 earmarked for replacement as part of a £1m investment by the Department of Regional Development (DRD) over the forthcoming financial year.
Roads Minister Danny Kennedy also revealed that Strabane, Omagh and Coleraine are to get one replacement gritter each.
“These allocations are based on a combination of vehicle age and condition as assessed by Roads Service fleet engineers.
“I am also advised that during the planning of next season’s winter service, some additional vehicle movements may be required to ensure the most efficient use of available resources,” he stated.
