I love being able to help people relax and get away from it all even if only for a short time.

Stress plays a major role in many people's lives these days and complementary rherapies are a great way of helping people cope better with the stresses and strains of everyday work and family life.

What’s the hardest aspect?

Needing a treatment myself after a busy day and not being able to get one.

Secret of success?

Hard work, determination, patience.

Person’s work you admire most and why?

I think people who work with cancer patients and other life limiting illnesses are absolutely fantastic.

Favourite hobby/ pastime?

According to my husband, my work is my hobby. I do really enjoy giving the treatments but enjoy it even more when I receive them! I enjoy nights out with my friends and spending time with my family.

Would you recommend this activity to others?

Without a doubt! Everyone should try complementary therapies at some point to feel the benefit for themselves.

Current/future challenges?

I hope to be able to get the chance to work with patients in palliative care. I have already had the opportunity to work with patients through Action Mental Health and I have found this work so rewarding. I plan to carry on with this work in the future.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose?

A nice country retreat, in a country with plenty of sunshine!

In the meantime, what keeps you motivated?

Bringing up my three beautiful daughters aged 4, 8 and 9. Its hard work but I wouldnt have it any other way.

Finally, what makes you want to climb on a soapbox with a megaphone?

People who let their dogs foul in parks, green areas and pathways and don't lift it. I think that the council or the police needs to enforce this matter more as it is getting out of control and is so dangerous. Children are walking in it going into school and when out playing in the local parks and it makes me so mad that the some owners just walk on by and leave it.

How do they feel whenever they stand it? I have two small dogs and always lift their mess even though it is tiny and people, especially with bigger dogs think that is okay to leave their big loads behind. If they cannot clean up after their dogs they shouldn’t own them.
