The closure is due to resurfacing work, Craigavon Borough Council has said.

The work will take a couple of days to complete and will leave a smooth tarmac surface on which they can walk, run and where necessary drive.

However, whilst the work is taking place, the 900 metres of the main drive is out of bounds temporarily with the Lime Grove, Cush Pavilion and Windsor Avenue gates closed from 13th-15th January inclusive.

Alternative gates which are open include those at Waves and Brownlow House.

There is also heavy machinery in the Park so people need to be aware of this for both their children and or dogs.

“Council is spending £30,000 on the resurfacing of the main drive,” commented Chair of Leisure Services Committee Councillor Noel McGeown, “We make repairs on an annual basis but this is the first time in nearly 20 years that we’re doing this all at one time. It’ll be in pristine condition for the 5k & 10 k in Lurgan Park in March”.
