The Mayor of Craigavon Councillor Carla Lockhart visited the site to view progress on the park for children in the Mourneview, Grey Estate and Hospital Estate area.

The DUP councillor said: “I am delighted that the work is ongoing and whilst there has been a slight delay in the delivery time I believe that the finished product will far outweigh the wait that residents have had to endure.”

“This will consist of new, modern, state-of-the-art play equipment and I am delighted to have been a cog in the wheel in helping bringing this project to fruition along with community workers in the area. As I surveyed the ongoing work I know that there is great excitement amongst the children.

“This along with the multi-use games area which is due to commence work shortly will really enhance the play provision for young people and children of the locality.

“As a councillor for the area I will continue to champion the needs of the people and for the future generations.

“I am delighted that council have been able to deliver this change and look forward to seeing the finished product next month.”
