Work underway on Kells MUGA pitch

Mr Frew commended Ballymena Borough Council for the work done to ensure funding was secured through the Rural development programme for the new sports facility.

He said: “It’s great to see the machinery on site. My constituents in Kells & Connor have been waiting a long time for investment of this scale and some had got to the point were they believed it would never happened.

“I have had numerous meetings with local sporting activists and community leaders in my DUP constituency office, in council offices and in Kells & Connor itself and my message was always consistent - this is going to happen with persistence and determination.

The facility should be completed sometime around the new year weather permitting. This will be a great Christmas present for the community.”
