It will be located at Dickson Primary School and is set to benefit the entire community when it is finished.

A trio from the DUP including MP David Simpon, MLA Stephen Moutray and Councillor Carla Lockhart recently visited the MUGA site and met with pupils from Dickson Primary School who are clearly excited about their new play provision.

DUP MP David Simpson said, “I was delighted to see first hand the excitement of the young people and teachers at the prospect of the MUGA opening in the coming weeks.

“I always enjoy seeing investment in our children and young people and certainly this is a facility that will I have no doubt be put to good use within the Mourneview, Grey and Hospital Estate area.

“I would commend the council and DSD for funding this project and would thank the SELB for their co-operation in providing the land within Dickson Primary School grounds.”

Councillor Lockhart added: “This is a fantastic facility for the area.

“I am absolutely thrilled with the progress and am looking forwarding to seeing the young people utilise it shortly.

“I am delighted to have been a cog in the wheel that has helped deliver it.

“In total there has, in recent months, been a total of £250,000 investment in our play provision within the South Lurgan area with the park upgrade and now the MUGA provision.

“I will be fighting for much more in the coming weeks, and months.”
