'Workingto address issues'

THE SELB has refused to comment on employment matters at Bleary Primary School.

In a statement to the 'MAIL' the education board said: "It is not board practice to comment on employment matters within schools.

"It must, however, be stressed that the board works closely with schools at all times in an effort to address often complex issues, set within a complex legal framework.

“The SELB continues to support the Bleary board of governors in looking forward positively to the new school year."

He added: "In line with normal practice in relation to inspection reports, the SELB is working with the board of governors and staff to address any issues raised therein.

“Action Plans to address the areas for improvement identified in the inspection report will be prepared and submitted to the Department of Education early in the new school term, according to the normal post-inspection protocols."

An SELB spokesman confirmed an outstanding issue with a member of staff is to be before the court later this year.

The matter is scheduled to be before the courts on September 6.
