Workshops on town centre masterplans

VISION Workshops for the DSD Ballyclare and Glengormley Masterplans will be held on March 26.

At these workshops, consultants will present the findings of their initial research as well as a draft vision for both town centres.

Members of the steering groups and the relevant statutory bodies have been invited to attend.

The eight-week consultation period on the draft Masterplan meanwhile, is expected to begin in late May 2010 and the final plan due to be completed by September 2010.

Speaking at Monday night’s meeting of the Development Committee, its chair Alderman Paul Girvan said he welcomed the news, and “looked forward to the workshops for guidance on the best way to proceed.”

Members were also informed that the findings would be presented to council after which there would be a series of public consultations on the plans.
