The Ballyclare-based band was nominated for the Musicians’ Merit Award (group) alongside Omagh Protestant Boys Melody Flute Band and Roses Lane Ends Flute Band.

The winning band was Omagh Protestant Boys, so regrettably the Grade 4A World Champions narrowly missed out on the top award on this occasion.

Under the direction of Pipe Major John Fittis, from Carrickfergus, the band played a great selection of foot-tapping tunes during the event, including ‘Killaloe’ and ‘Amazing Grace’.
