World War I exhibition at St Paul’s Gilford

An exhibition on the First World War is to be held at St. Paul’s Parish in Gilford this month.

The event is to be held on November 7 and is part of their contribution to the Church of Ireland Outreach Mission.

It will be hosted by local Portadown man Ashley Forbes, an enthusiastic collector of World War memorabilia and member of the Ancre Somme Association.

Ashley, who recently gave a lecture on behalf of Banbridge district council in the Iveagh Movie Studio alongside Dr Eamon Phoenix, discussing the History of postcards of the Home Rule Crisis and the First World War, shall be giving a short history talk beginning 
at 12:00pm.

Many of these postcards will be on display, along with various other artefacts and guests are encouraged to bring along any World War items for free 
appraisal/valuation.

St. Paul’s would encourage anyone and everyone to come along to the event, to learn more about First World and enjoy the numerous artefacts on display as well as nice cup of tea in 
friendly company.

Admission is free and refreshments will be served, event runs 10am-4pm
