YMCA making big plans

TENDERS have recently been sent out for the town's new YMCA building.

It's hoped to have diggers move onto the Carnegie Street site in October with proposed completion of Christmas 2011.

The new YMCA is a Youth and Community Centre to be used by all sectors of the community, from YMCA programmes to hiring space for community events and programmes.

There is also four social economy units for hire on the ground and basement floors of the building to facilitate local enterprise.
