You have a right to a full life

MS Awareness Week is running this week until Sunday, May 2, and the Foyle Branch of the Society is meeting with the Mayors of Londonderry and Limavady to present the Society's manifesto, which demands the right to a full life for everyone with MS.

The MS Society believes that everyone with MS should be entitled to high quality care and support to live their lives. Lots of progress has been made in recent years, but huge inequalities in access to drugs, treatments, equipment and services across the UK mean people with MS are being denied access tothese entitlements every day.

The MS Society Manifesto calls for the Government to take immediate action to improve the lives of the UK’s 100,000 people with MS by committing to improvements in three key areas to realise the rights of people with MS: Health care and, the right to quality and specialist health care throughout life, including fair access to the right drugs and treatments; Independence: The right to personalised care and support, and to wheelchairs and enabling equipment; support, namely, the right to support in and out of work, and to support for carers.
