Gerard Magee, Clonmeen, Craigavon, was fined £200 and ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy for disorderly behaviour on December 18 last year.

The court heard that just after 11pm in Clonmeen police received a report of the defendant, who was drunk, outside a house and shouting abuse at a female.

When police arrived he was abusive to them and was arrested.

A solicitor representing Magee said he did have a record but it was of some vintage with the last offence five years ago.

He added that the defendant had been at a Christmas party with work colleagues and had far too much to drink.

The solicitor said that Magee did not drink very often and was contrite at what had happened.

District Judge, Mr Mervyn Bates, told Magee ‘you let yourself down this time’.
