Young Christians get 'fired up' at Greystone Road

MORE than a dozen young people got 'fired up' for Jesus during a special outreach by Greystone Road Presbyterian Church last week.

The programme, which was in its second year, was developed and co-ordinated by some of the older young people in the congregation. With a team of 15 it used the church as a focal point to meet over the three evenings.

Numerous activities took place as part of ‘Fired Up’. These included a speed community and the Den where the young people were able to relax and chat enjoy hot chocolate and buns.

There was a beauty room where you could have your nails, hair and makeup done as well as numerous different sports going on each evening.

The events enabled the 'Fired Up!' team to talk and share who they are in Christ. There have been over 70 young people through the halls over the three evenings aged between 11-17. And many good conversations were had. Each evening had an epilogue taken by one of the team.

According to the Minister at Greystone Road, Rev. Jonathan Moxen, ‘Fired Up’ was a resounding success for everyone involved.

He said: “This outreach helped spiritually develop our own young people increasing the gifts God has given them, developing their reliance upon God in all situations.

“It also sought to reach those who are lost without Jesus to hear of the gospel of grace and be challenged by the message of the cross. God has greatly blessed us throughout these nights”.
