Young entrepreneurs celebrate success

TWELVE young bright sparks are celebrating success after graduating from the Knowledge through Enterprise for Youth (KEY) programme at the Waterfront Hall, Belfast.

The graduates included Glengormley High School pupil Sarah McNutt, who was among the participants who displayed exceptional entrepreneurial skills and are being rewarded with a trip to the Canadian Next Generation Leaders Conference in Ontario this August.

Also awarded at the ceremony was Rhiannan Gray from Hazelwood Integrated College, who won the KEY Personality of the Year title for giving 100 per cent to the project and bringing enthusiasm, fun and a winning attitude to the programme.

The awards were handed out by Denis Rooney, Chairman of the International Fund for Ireland.

The KEY programme, which this year celebrated its 10th year anniversary, is jointly run by Young Enterprise Northern Ireland and Junior Achievement Ireland and is funded by the International Fund for Ireland. It brings together young people aged between 14 and 16 years old from “marginalised communities” on both sides of the border to teach them about enterprise and help develop entrepreneurial and personal skills.
