The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) confirmed that crews attended to a young female with chest pain at the centre’s all-weather hockey pitch shortly before 7.00pm.

It is understood she was taking part in a football training session at the venue.

“A total of two vehicles were sent to the scene with a paramedic rapid responder arriving at 7pm, supported by an emergency ambulance at 7.15pm,” a spokesperson for the NIAS said.

“One patient was taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital.”
