Young maestros from across the North West wow at celebration

Budding young musicians from across Londonderry and the wider North West took part in the Education Authority's Music Service's '˜Prize night,' which was hosted at the Strule Arts Centre, Omagh.

Young people with a passion for music at various stages of musical development took to the stage to perform using a wide range of musical instruments.

Senior school musicians performed a specially arranged repertoire displaying exemplary levels of musicianship and technical virtuosity.

The Omagh Junior and Intermediate wind bands and Junior String orchestra gave outstanding performances to a packed theatre with classics such as ‘Don’t Stop Believin’ by Journey and ‘The Magnificent Seven’. Awards were presented to over 30 high achieving exam pupils from the past academic year. The Music Service was delighted with the appreciative response and thanked parents and guardians for all their support throughout the year.
