Reports emerging via social media stated that the 22-year-old was left with cuts to his head, back and ear, after he was attacked at the former military barracks, where a Hallowe’en fun fair is currently installed.

According to a social media post by the young man’s aunt his attacker pulled his friend away in order to get at him.

“It’s very distressing to hear your sister describe trying to wash the blood from her son’s head while he is crying with pain! To the thug who carried out this attack...there are witnesses as a man stopped to phone the police and CCTV will be checked,” she stated.
